Heyn’s Ice Cream in Iowa City is a little out of the way, but worth the trip!

All of their ice cream is homemade in their shop just up the street from Iowa City High. A HUGE single scoop is about $2.50 and they’ve got every flavor you can imagine… and they take requests! (TIP: they let you do half and half to try two flavors!)

My favorites are Peanut Butter Chocolate, Coconut Chip, Monster Mash, Blueberry Cheesecake, Snicker Bar Swirl, Lemon Custard and their Mint Chocolate Chip is the best I’ve ever had.  (I could go on…)

Even if you haven’t tried their ice cream, you may have heard of Heyn’s from some of their work in the community, like the Youth Entrepreneurship camp at the UI that they participate in each summer. Kids get a chance to create their own ice cream flavors, and Heyn’s makes them!
