Matthew Santos

Grammy-nominated artist Matthew Santos has established himself as one of the rare and striking talents quickly emerging from the Chicago music scene. With an ethereal voice that has been the praise of artists such as Eddie Vedder, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna, Santos has secured his place in current music with his distinguished style and elusive musical gift. Santos plays in Iowa City on Friday.

The Pines

Join David Huckfelt, Benson Ramsey and company in celebrating the release of their brand new CD, Dark So Gold. Hitting the streets just a few days prior, Dark So Gold is one of the most highly anticipated releases of the new year. Showcasing a distinct blend of dark atmospheric indie-folk, rock and blues, the new album shows a young band that has fully arrived with a sound and song craft that stand apart on the indie music landscape.  The Pines play in Cedar Rapids on Saturday.

XV

As a huge fan of comic books and superheroes, XV has set the stage for a triumphant story to take place. Inside the jewel case of an amazing album, as well as the real world that XV plans to become one of Hip-Hop’s greatest artists in. Finally finding his place amongst all the gangsters, hipsters, and ballers in Hip-Hop, as simply, “The Kid With The Green Backpack”. XV performs in Iowa City on Saturday.

Slip Silo

Comprised of veteran musicians in the Iowa City band scene, Indie Pop-Rock powerhouse Slip Silo delivers a winning fusion of powerful rock, pop hooks, and high energy that brings superb musicianship to diverse audiences everywhere. The band performs Saturday in Iowa City.

Blind Pilot
Portland-based band Blind Pilot continues their tour in celebration of their sophomore album, “We Are The Tide.”  Blind Pilot began in 2007 when founding members Israel Nebeker (vocals, guitar) and Ryan Dobrowski (drums) embarked on a West Coast bicycle tour playing mostly to unfamiliar listeners at small-town venues. The band now exists as a 6-piece ensemble featuring fellow Oregonians Luke Ydstie (upright bass, backing vocals), Kati Claborn (banjo, dulcimer, backing vocals), Ian Krist (vibraphones) and Dave Jorgensen (keyboards, trumpet). They perform Thursday at the Blue Moose Tap House in Iowa City.
