Championship Bull Riding – Bull riders from the Bull Riders of America and the National Federation of Professional Bull Riders will compete for $10,000 in prize money, and fans are treated to the roughest sport on dirt! Cowboys to last year’s event came from every corner of the country to compete: from Texas to California, and from Minnesota to Iowa.

West Side Story – Could it be? Yes, it could. Something’s coming, something good. And we no longer have to wait. The first national tour of the 2009 Broadway revival of “West Side Story” is coming to the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines for eight performances, beginning Tuesday. It’s the classic Romeo & Juliet story of love and loss, set to music in the 1950s and updated with just enough modern touches to let the timeless tale speak to today’s audiences.
