Iowa City has its Friday and Saturday Night Concert Series. Cedar Rapids has Uptown Friday Nights. Both are great, free chances to catch local and regional performers.

But, if you’re in Des Moines, maybe think about marking your calendar for the city’s Nitefall on the River  series. The lineup is a bit beefier, but there’s a price tag that comes with the name cachet.
