The Spring Metro Gallery Tour will be Thursday (4/26) from 5 to 8 p.m. Welcoming visitors for this free biannual, self-guided gallery hop are ARA Gallery, Campbell Steele Gallery, the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, CornerHouse Gallery, and Wiederspan Gallery.

ARA Gallery, 4850 Armar Drive SE, Cedar Rapids, will be displaying new abstract work by John Douglas and Jennifer Hollack, two of ARA Gallery’s main artists for 19 years.

"Attractors Pendulum" by Davenport artist Kristin Quinn.

Campbell Steele Gallery,  1064 Seventh Avenue in Marion, will be featuring the work of Kristin Quinn and Leslie Bell who are colleagues on faculty at Saint Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa. In distinctly contrasting styles, both painters explore personal narratives through the integration of vivid color and patterning on large-scale canvases.

Visitors to the Cedar Rapids Museum Art,  401 Third Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, will have a chance to visit all of the exciting exhibitions in the CRMA galleries including Lure of the Local: Collecting the Corridor, 2006-2011 – an exhibition of more than 65 works by 40 area artists and the newly reinstalled Mauricio Lasansky: Master Printmaker galleries. The Museum will be open until 8:00 p.m. and will offer free admission for all visitors! For more information, visit www.crma.org or call 319.366.7503.

CornerHouse Gallery & Frame, 2753 First Avenue SE, Cedar Rapids, will feature the work of Danielle Mailer, daughter of writer Norman Mailer and Peruvian painter Adele Morales. Her work will only be here for a short time – so come by and enjoy her powerful, vibrant tribute to women and women’s associations between femininity and nature.

Wiederspan Gallery, 3413 Mount Vernon Road SE, Cedar Rapids, will feature many new unique works of their current artists. Styles range from photorealistic to non-objective colorful abstracts.
