The awards program will feature video montages of every production from the past season; remarks by directors and staff members; and special awards for actors and a variety of volunteers. The celebration will also include naming TCR’s Volunteer of the Year.
In addition, Ovations will feature the announcement of which shows have been chosen for the TCR Underground New Play Festival, which will feature original plays by Iowa writers this fall in the Grandon Studio.
Ovations, held at TCR, 102 Third St. SE, kicks off with a reception at 6:30 p.m. including food by Zin’s and a cash bar. The awards program begins at 7:30 p.m. followed by karaoke and a cash bar.
The first show of the 2012/13 season opens Aug. 8. “Camp Rock” Based on a Disney Channel original movie, “Camp Rock” is about a summer at camp that was supposed to be all about the music and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers, and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown.
