Friday
The Dart Dragon Army Megawar – Team Juggernaut, Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Free for All, Search and Destroy – All powered by Nerf guns.
Uptown Friday Nights -The last Uptown Friday Nights of the season with Jif and the Choosy Mothers in downtown Cedar Rapids.
Bix Beiderbecke Jazz Festival – Runs all weekend in Davenport with live music, food and more fun to be had.
Saturday
Downtown Farmers Market – Market vendors and entertainment will be placed along Third and Fourth Avenues, Second, Third and Fifth Streets SE as well as Greene Square Park.
Hardacre Film Festival – The Hardacre Film Festival is one of the few precious opportunities those of us in our region of the Midwest have to screen truly independent and underground cinema. One of the primary goals of the Hardacre Film Festival is to bring a diverse selection of cutting-edge independent motion pictures to an Eastern Iowa audience who otherwise would not have an opportunity to view these films.
Taste of Dubuque – The 17th annual Taste of Dubuque is a day of live music, children’s games, activities, and more than two dozen food vendors to satisfy any craving.
Tropical Iowan Night – Welcome Parrotheads! Fireside Winery will transform into “Wine-a-Rita-ville” on Saturday, August 4th (4-10pm) when the Cedar Island Band plays all of your favorite tropical-inspired tunes during our annual Tropical Iowan Night!
Bluesmore – Music lovers and blues enthusiasts alike will revel in the live performances on Brucemore’s First Avenue lawn at the 19th annual Bluesmore. Presented by Brucemore and the Linn County Blues Society, Bluesmore will feature Janiva Magness, The Chris Beard Band, and BF Burt and the Instigators.
Cedar Rapids Rollergirls – Check out the Cedar Rapids Rollergirls vs. Mclean County Missfits at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena.
Sunday
BF Burt at Cedar Ridge – For over 20 years, Kevin “B.F.” Burt has been electrifying audiences throughout the nation dispelling the myth that true blues has no roots in Iowa. His soul-inspired presentation is unique which consistently gets him compared to a range of artists like Bill Withers and Aaron Nevill, with the ability to build an audience rapport that has been compared to B.B. King.
Lisbon Annual Sauerkraut Days – Sauerkraut Days will kickoff Sunday, August 5th with an ecumenical church service at Lisbon City Park starting at 7:00pm. Wednesday, August 8th at City Park, there will be an outdoor showing of “The Lorax”. Bring your lawn chairs and blanket to enjoy this classic movie.
