There are almost 200 fun things to do this weekend in the Hoopla events list, including 68 live music shows. Below we highlight some of our best bets. What will you be doing this weekend?

Friday

Lisbon Annual Sauerkraut Days – The old Lincoln Highway will be filled with the smell of brats and sauerkraut!The streets will be packed with rides, carnival games, community bands, chicken chip bingo, bathtub races, street dances, and good time family entertainment!

“The Invisible War” film screening – From Oscar and Emmy-nominated filmmaker Kirby Dick (This Film Is Not Yet Rated; Twist of Faith) comes The Invisible War, a groundbreaking investigative documentary about one of America’s most shameful and best kept secrets: the epidemic of rape within the U.S. military.

The Blind Boys of Alabama – The Blind Boys have earned praise for their remarkable interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material by acclaimed songwriters such as Curtis Mayfield, Ben Harper, Eric Clapton, Prince and Tom Waits.

Saturday

Picking Grapes! – Come to Cedar Ridge Saturday and Sunday morning to pick grapes and make money! You can make $3 for every bin filled! Enjoy the summer morning while helping your local winery with their harvest season!

St. Jude’s Sweet Corn Festival – The St. Jude Sweet Corn Fest is one of Cedar Rapids’ best! It’s a fundraiser, festival, and carnival offering food, fun, and games for all ages. Hot, fresh, Iowa sweet corn only 50 cents an ear and many other festival favorites are available all weekend. Midway activities include bingo, children’s games, carnival rides, and a variety of free local entertainment and performances

Kids Day at Kinnick – The University of Iowa football team will stage its annual “Kids at Kinnick” day Saturday, Aug. 11. Gates to Kinnick Stadium will open at 11 a.m. with the team’s practice scheduled to begin at noon.

Sand in the City – Sand in the City is a wonderful late-summer event to bring out family and friends to downtown Iowa City for a weekend of free entertainment. Giant sandboxes filled with fantastical sand sculptures will line Iowa Avenue

319 Music and Arts Fest – Tickets are now on sale for the one-day festival which will feature more than 80 different visual artists, creative vendors, musical acts, and performers along with activities as diverse as a strobe light bounce house and classes on how to be a rock star or how to jump start your visual arts carer.

Sunday

Cedar Rapids Kernels Baseball Game – Join us for a Party at the Park! Fans can play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo each Sunday home game for a chance to win a trip to Anaheim and see the Angels in 2013. Five winners from each Sunday will come back on September 2nd and play for the trip presented by Travel Advisors.

“Camp Rock: The Musical” – This summer at camp was supposed to be all about the music and having the time of their lives. But the new, flashy Camp Star across the lake now threatens Camp Rock’s very existence. To keep the doors open, Mitchie steps up, rallies her fellow Camp Rockers, and gets them into top shape for the ultimate showdown! Based on a Disney Channel original movie.
