Friday
Midnight Ninja 5k Race - Ninja Themed 5k Run at Midnight. Events including Obstacle Course, Fitness Challenges and Costume Contest.
Harvest Festival - Come celebrate with us for our 3rd annual Harvest Festival at Cedar Ridge! We will be featuring 5 different bands all weekend long performing on our festival’s stage with professional lighting & sound to celebrate the harvest of our grapes. We will have a special Harvest Festival menu available all weekend.
Saturday
Downtown Farmers Market - Market vendors and entertainment will be placed along Third and Fourth Avenues, Second, Third and Fifth Streets SE as well as Greene Square Park.
Iowa Women’s Music Festival - 19th Annual Iowa Women’s Music Festival, September 1, noon to 6 p.m.; followed by A Celebration of the Roots of Women’s Music at the Englert Theatre in Iowa City at 8 p.m.
Working Group Theatre: Rust – In 2008, General Motors announced it was shuttering a 75-year-old metal-stamping plant in Wyoming, Mich. Over 1,500 people lost their jobs and the factory was razed to the ground. Playwright/ethnographer Austin Bunn, in collaboration with Iowa City’s Working Group Theatre, spent two years piecing together what happened.

Cedar Rapids Kernels Baseball Game - Hurry out to the ballpark as the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a FREE Mike Trout Wobblehead from the Kernels! Play Travel Advisors Baseball Vacation Bingo each Sunday home game for a chance to win a trip to Anaheim and see the Angels in 2013.
Monday
Mayors Bike Ride - The annual Linn County Mayors’ Bike Ride is a free, educational bicycle ride organized as an opportunity to showcase the continued need and development for multi-modal transportation networks in Linn County.
Labor Day Disc Golf Tournament - The Vinton Parks & Recreation Department will be hosting a 18-Hole Labor Day Disc Golf Tournament at the Riverside Disc Golf Course in Vinton. The cost per person is $5 and tournament registration will be from 9:30 AM to 9:55 AM by the tee box for the first hole.
Boston + Night Ranger - Laborpalooza will feature opening act, Night Ranger and headliner Boston in the Outdoor Arena. Gates open at noon event will kickoff at 2pm.
