The Science Center at Lindale Mall has announced a location change to take place in 2013.

At the request of Lindale Mall the Center has been asked to vacate the current space that houses the Science Center gallery, which is located across from Holley’s Shop for Men. The gallery will move to the lower level of Lindale Mall where the current Science Center Education center is located. For the near term, the locations will be consolidated.

“While not our decision to leave the gallery space, we plan to make the best of it,” said Norah Hammond, Science Center Executive Director “The joining of spaces at Lindale was the best move in the short term for our operations. We plan for this to be temporary as we finalize the location of our permanent home. We anticipate being in one location will allow us to improve the services we offer, which is a good thing.”

The organization does not expect to experience a change in programs or events, however, locations for some programs, like summer camps 2013, will change. In 2013, summer camps will be held at a partner location, Trinity Lutheran Schools, 1361 7th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52404.

The Science Center appreciates the continued support of our members and the public and ask for continued input and guidance on the future of the Science Center. Visit crsciencecenter.org for the most up-to-date information on future plans for the Center and the ability to provide feedback via survey or email.

The Science Center is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday noon to 5pm. Admission during public hours is $3.00. Located at Lindale Mall, the museum has ample parking and is conveniently located between First Avenue and Collins Road.
