The forecast is favorable for outdoor family-friendly festivities this weekend. Celebrate spring and Easter by taking the kids to one of several area Easter Egg Hunts. From real bunnies to the big stuffed kind, these events are for the young and the young at heart.

Amana

Amana Heritage Museum Easter Egg Hunt, 9 a.m. Saturday throughout the Amana Colonies.  For children 12 years and younger.  

Cedar Rapids

H.D. Youth Center Easter Egg Hunt, 1 p.m. March 30, The NewBo City Market, 1100 Third St. SE. The  springtime tradition has found a new home for 2013. The event is free; parents and guardians are encouraged to bring their own baskets and bags. Easter Egg Hunt, Follow the Bunny Trail, 10 a.m. to 2:30  p.m. March 29 and 30 at Peck’s Flower and Garden Shop, 3990 Blairs Ferry Rd. NE. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Easter Showcase, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. March 30 and 31, Noelridge Greenhouse, 4900 Council St. NE., Cedar Rapids, free. Exhibits by the Eastern Iowa Aquarium Association and the Harshbarger Hosta Society. The first 500 children age 12 years and under will receive a free plant. Houseplants, honey, handcrafted jewelry and pressed flower greeting cards will be available for sale. For more information, call (319) 286-5762. Color Easter Eggs, 2:30 p.m. March 28, Hy-Vee, 5050 Edgewood Rd. NE, Cedar Rapids, $10. Create marbled Easter eggs with colored dyes and oils (take home four eggs); make deviled eggs and make a Cherry Berry Angel Parfait. For ages 4 to 10 with an adult. Preregistration is required at (319) 378-0762. Hy-Vee Easter Egg Hunts, 11 a.m. March 30 at one of four locations: Noelridge Park (Cedar Rapids), Jones Park (Cedar Rapids), Cherry Hill (Cedar Rapids), and Peg Pierce Complex (Marion). For kids ages 12 and under. Thousands of eggs will be given away plus three grand prizes will be awarded at each location, one per age group. Free hot chocolate and coffee. Rain or shine. GPS Easter Egg Hunt, noon March 30, Indian Creek Nature Center, 6665 Otis Rd. SE, Cedar Rapids. $3 to $5. Easter Egg Hunt 2013, 2 p.m. March 30, Summit Point Senior Living Center. The Easter Bunny and games.  

Hiawatha

Easter Egg Hunt, 9 a.m. March 30, at Guthridge Park, 704 Emmons St. Also, visit with the Hiawatha Easter Bunny. Rain or shine.  

Iowa City

Easter Egg Hunt, 11 a.m. March 30 at Hy-Vee, 812 S. First Ave., Iowa City. $1 all you can eat pancakes for kids.  

Marion

Hy-Vee Easter Egg Hunts, 11 a.m. March 30 at one of four locations: Noelridge Park (Cedar Rapids), Jones Park (Cedar Rapids), Cherry Hill (Cedar Rapids), and Peg Pierce Complex (Marion). For kids ages 12 and under. Thousands of eggs will be given away plus three grand prizes will be awarded at each location, one per age group. Free hot chocolate and coffee. Rain or shine.
