MOBILE BEER GARDEN
When RAGBRAI starts on Sunday (7/21), Backpocket Brewing, Coralville's craft brewery will join in the festivities with a a mobile beer garden located between each overnight community.
Backpocket and RAGBRAI favorite Mr. Porkchop are teaming up for the week. Riders can a Backpocket beer along with a pork chop when they stop on this mid-route oasis. Backpocket will provide a selection of four beers each day. The selection will rotate between regular, specialty and seasonal offerings.
"Bicyclists have traditionally been a craft beer drinking group," said co-owner and brewmaster, Jake Simmons. "Add in a passion for locally produced goods and you have a perfect audience for Backpocket. We think bikers will look forward to enjoying a locally brewed craft beer each day on their Ragbrai adventure."
County licenses are being obtained, and Backpocket will announce all locations at a later date when they are finalized.
In Minburn on Tuesday, they will serve Beer-mosas, bloody beers, and other craft beer takes on morning favorites will be served.
