What’s the Hoopla?
In a word. Hoopla is fresh. Hoopla is cool. Hoopla is now.
OK. Maybe that’s three words. But, Hoopla is all of those things and more.
Hoopla is a weekly entertainment magazine written for and by young adults about everything from nightlife to networking.
In the pages of our print publication, you’ll be able to find out what’s going on in Iowa City, Cedar Rapids and everywhere in between. We’ll have food and book columns, Q&As with bartenders and chefs and profiles on the area’s movers and shakers. If you haven’t seen it already, check out the digital version at the top of this page.
Hoopla is a forum for 20 and 30-somethings to share their passion for the area, to infuse their enthusiasm for everything the corridor has to offer.
Did you catch that? Hoopla is yours. You own this. Make it something you and your friends can’t wait to pick up every Thursday.
How do you do that? The answer is simple. Engage. Submit story ideas. Heck submit stories.
Hoopla isn’t about professional journalism. It isn’t about us telling you what’s cool. Alone, we can’t be the ultimate barometer of cool. But together we can. You know what’s hot. So tell us what rocks, where the coolest place to eat is, who makes the meanest martini.
Not sure where to start? If nothing else, take five minutes to fill out our survey. C’mon. We’re making it worth your while with iTunes, Amazon and gas cards worth $50. Fill it out and you’re entered to win.
Think Hoopla sucks? Back it up. Tell us why. Think we’re perfect? Hardly likely. But do tell us what you love. Then tell your friends to do the same.
