Just 60 tickets were left for this show earlier this week, so act now if you want to catch the King of the Blues in action Sunday night at the Paramount Theatre.
The thrill is far from gone from Riley B. King, 87, who has been blazing a blues trail since the late ‘40s. He’s had R&B hits with “Three O’clock Blues” and “You Don’t Know Me” in the ‘50s and “Sweet Sixteen, Part I” and “Don’t Answer the Door, Part I” in the ‘60s, then found pop chart favor in the next decade with “The Thrill is Gone.”
With his trusty guitar Lucille at his side, he keeps singing and swinging through blues, jazz, pop and jump, bending the strings in legendary form.
B.B. King - 7 p.m. Sunday, Paramount Theatre, 123 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids; $49.50 to $89.50, Orchestra Iowa Box Office, (319) 366-8203, 1-(800) 369-8863 or Paramounttheatrecr.com
