Dustin Diamond will be screeching into Penguins Comedy Club this weekend.
The actor best known as Samuel “Screech” Powers began doing standup comedy after “Saved by the Bell” pealed through its 13th year on TV.
He’s toured on and off ever since. He’s also been featured on game shows and reality shows, including “The Weakest Link” and “Celebrity Boxing 2.”
His big-screen credits range from cameos in “Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star” and “Made” to Alumnus Guy No. 1 in “American Pie Presents: The Book of Love” and the Foul Mouths’ down-on-his luck coach in “Tetherball: The Movie.” And he’s tackled several roles in professional wrestling. Perhaps he was saved by the bell there, too.
Show Details: 7:30 p.m. Friday (10/19) and Saturday (10/20), Penguins Comedy Club, 208 Second Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids; $16.50 advance, $18.50 door, (319) 362-8133 or Penguinscomedyclub.com
