Hawks Nest and SCOPE Productions are taking “party in the park” to a whole new level today, with Hawkapalooza 2012. The annual UI big bash in Hubbard Park kicks off with the Ultimate Tailgate from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., building momentum for the evening’s free concert by Grammy-winning superstar T-Pain.
This annual free-for-all celebrates Hawkeye athletics with a pep rally, food vendors and the 7 p.m. concert, open to all students and the general public.
Florida-born T-Pain calls his music “Hard & B,” his own flavor of beat-heavy, danceable R&B. His newest album, “rEVOLVEr,” was released in December and features the Top 10 single “5 O’Clock” and “Best Love Song.”
The daylong range of activities will model fun, responsible tailgating behavior while giving students a winning way to channel their spirit for fall athletics.
