In short, ABC will reportedly run each of the cancelled show’s remaining episodes off during the summer.
A specific time table has yet to be set, but fans of Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Dirty Sexy Money seemed to recently be demanding to see their favorite shows one last time before they’re ushered into the abyss.
Of course, fans of each seemed to have every right to. All three programs were very good, in their own way, and seemed to be cancelled in part, because of the financial crisis. This news comes from E!…
Yes, word is Daisies’ final three episodes and Eli and DSM’s final four won’t air until June at the earliest.
According to insiders, the original plan was for the final three episodes of Daisies to begin airing last Wednesday, but ABC decided to air reruns of Scrubs instead.
And what you really won’t want to hear is…
There’s actually a pretty solid reason—from a business standpoint, at least—for ABC to delay the airing of these final episodes.
Though we all know Daisies, Eli and DSM are three of the best-produced series currently on television, the sad truth is that the programming ABC has plugged into those three timeslots (Wednesdays at 8, Tuesdays at 10 and Wednesdays at 10, respectively) have fared as well or better in the ratings. Even lame specials and reruns.
For more info about the breakdown of how each show did versus its replacement, head on over to the E! piece. For more information about when each show will air, check back here at the end of May when we have something for you.

My favoritye TV show is Eli Stone. I have faithfully been watching the listings in January 2009 to see when the series would continue. Everyone I with whom I associate watched Eli Stone. Why would you ever cancel such a good program?

The networks need to update their system. They don’t take into account the number of people that record shows on a DVR because of hours they work. These are great shows and shouldn’t be cancelled. They are going to leave us with just American idol and dancing with the stars type shows that I think are ridiculous. I watch tv to be entertained, if I wanted to watch people being making fools of themselves I would go hang out on the strip! (I live in Vegas)

Eli Stone has been one of my favorites shows. If I remeber correctly the same thing happened on FOX, they were about to cancel America’s Most Wanted, because they were under the presumption that no one was looking at the show. However, when fans heard the news of FOX’s plan FOX was inundated with emails, telephone calls and the like; now look at where America’s Most Wanted is in the line-up. I hope the fans of Eli Stone does the same. This is a wonderful show.

You know what, I as is everyone else on this page are sick and tired of good shows getting the boot for these shows that have no story line or reason to them. Just when they get you really into a show they pull the rug out from under you and say we have a scheduling confilct or some sob story like that. Or they decide to put a new show in its place because it just might get a 1% better rating. The least they can do is run the show out until all the episodes are done. This is the least a network can do to give a little back to all the people who do follow these shows and pay an outragous amount every month for cable,direct tv, or dish network……Get it straight Networks will ya?

The worst thing about these three getting canceled is that ABC is still on the fence about whether to air the episodes. So they’re basically just sitting on the episodes, and they might not ever air.

I love Eli!!!! I have watched every episode some times twice. And again they are going to cancel a really good show! This is insane, Everyone I know loves Eli Stone, and we all DVR b/c we have to work early in the morning. Is it true that if we DVR they don’t get ratings for it???? Does anyone know????

@AMY
The DVR ratings are included a couple days later (it might be 3 or 4), but that’s one of the things that they don’t think about. I think the networks get the ratings back the day after the show aired, and then they have a knee-jerk reaction and wind up canceling shows like these three.

I cant believe you are canceling the Eli Stone show it is a great show . I finally get to see something that is a religous based show with decent programing and of course you all want to take it off the air. I have like many others watche all the episodes and loved them all. Its just there isnt hardly any decent shows anymore except cop shows and reality shows . I hope you get enought people to email in that you keep the show on. I agree it isnt fair to just drop the shows and leave us all hanging at least let us see the final shows.
