It seems to me that the best time to watch TV during the week is Thursday night at 8 p.m.
You have The Office, 30 Rock, CSI and Grey’s Anatomy. And that’s solely on three networks -specialized networks can pull in strong numbers, as well. The best example is the NFL Network, with their Thursday Night Football.
But those four shows are the heavyweights of Thursday night, and on a given week, Grey’s and CSI battle for night’s top ratings.
Because this week saw Gil Grissom leave the CSI forever, CSI dominated the night for CBS, and Grey’s Anatomy was a bit of a disappointment.
(The second number is the amount of viewers, in millions)
The conclusion of the “CSI” repeat, and the new episode featuring Petersen’s departure, delivered a 13.9/21 at 9 p.m. “Grey’s Anatomy,” 8.5/13, moved ABC into second. “The Office,” 4.9/7, and “30 Rock,” 4.0/6, were third for NBC. “Kitchen Nightmares” earned a 2.7/4, keeping FOX ahead of The CW and “Supernatural.”
You know what’s quietly a really good show on Thursday nights that doesn’t get hardly any press? Supernatural.
I found myself watching it over this past summer, and was surprised by how much I liked it, considering my feat of everything paranormal. But it’s too bad because all of the quality programming that airs opposite of the CW’s hour-long drama.
So Supernatural out, and hope that your TIVO/DVR doesn’t crap out on Thursday nights.
