grenier lands eminem on ‘entourage’

Most of the time in television, special guest stars are brought in because of the relationship upper management has with that particular actor or their agent.

Entourage is a completely different case because all of its guest stars are celebrities of all different kinds, which means that everybody has to pitch in when it comes to landing stars. Adrian Grenier, who plays Vincent Chase on the show, recently chipped in and landed Eminem after interviewing the rapper for a documentary.

“I actually met Eminem several months ago, interviewing him for a documentary we’re making. He mentioned that he loved the show, and I said, ‘Do you want to be on it?’ And he said, ‘Yeah.’ So I called Doug [Ellin, the show's creator] right then,” Grenier recounts to PopEater . “I said, ‘Doug, how would you like Eminem to be on the show?’ He said, ‘I’d love it!’”

“Well, watch what you ask for. We don’t even get to be buds. Doug wrote this whole thing — I can’t mention what it is, but Eminem and Vince have a conflict,” Grenier says with a laugh, referring to his movie star character on the show. “It’s very interesting, you have no idea.”

‘entourage’ trying to get obama on the program

Preside Obama has long been rumored to be a fan of Entourage, with Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s brother Ari serving as the inspiration behind fictional Ari Gold.

Despite that most likely being the reason Obama tunes in on a weekly basis, the Entourage producers are reportedly trying to lure Obama for the show.

“I’m trying to get him,” series co-creator Doug Ellin told MarketWatch. “Rahm Emanuel is supposed to deliver him.”

So yeah, it’s a nice way for MarketWatch to write 500 words about Entourage and get people to click on the headlines, but there’s no way the President appears on the guy version of Sex And The City. It would be a PR nightmare and he would be hammered by the right-wing pundits. It’s not going to happen, but that doesn’t mean that Entourage isn’t worth your time. MarketWatch provides a nice summation of what’s going on in their piece about Obama possibly coming to the show. Check out the hyperlink above.

The seventh season of Entourage debuts June 27 on HBO.

more details emerge about the ‘entourage’ movie

If you didn’t hear by now, Entourage will end in 2011.

The tentative plan is to air all the episodes of the upcoming seventh season (which will premiere on June 27) and then either add on six episodes to the back end of season seven or call it season eight. Either way, there will be 19 more episodes of Entourage.

Then, after the 19th episode airs, Mark Wahlberg and the rest of the show’s producers will produce a series-ending movie to wrap things up.

“I am more focused on making that movie than my own films,” Wahlberg recently told MTV. “I just think we can make a great movie. I think people always wanted [it] and have complained that the episodes are too short — they’ve always wanted more. I think we’re going to do it.”

Yeah, but the point of Entourage is that things are over after 25 minutes. And in most cases, that’s a good thing.  Things happen to Vince and the gang and then they’re over and we forget about them until the next week. There isn’t really that one storyline where Entourage leaves you thinking “Oh my! What’s going to happen next?”

Whalberg will change that with one shocking plot twist.

“I think we’re going to do it. We just have to end strong, and this season is, by far, the best season so far,” he said. “We’re going to have six episodes next year and end with a bang and then in the trailer you see [Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) and his associate, Lloyd] waking up together in Vegas not knowing what happened.”

Color me intrigued.

matt damon & lebron to appear on ‘entourage’

Matt Damon and LeBron James will both appear in the sixth season finale of Entourage where both have a scene together that focuses on Damon trying to get LeBron to donate to his charity.

“It wasn’t hard to get him,” executive producer Doug Ellin said of Damon.  “Matt came on the phone with me and wanted to do something that focused on his charity, One By One, which helps kids all over the world.”

SPOILER ALERT

Just hours after the season premiere of the sixth season, it looks Vince is going to end season six back on top of the world because of how Damon factors into the season finale.

“Matt gets Vince to make a massive donation. He’s like, ‘Bro – whip out your checkbook!,’” reveals Entourage co-star Emmanuelle Chriqui, who plays Eric Murphy’s on-again, off-again girlfriend Sloan.

“The joke is that Matt is very passionate about his charity – almost in a stalkerish kind of way,” tells Adrian Grenier, who plays Vince. “Vince becomes intimated by his intensity. He ends up bullying Vince into giving much more than he should.”

Be sure to check out Damon in the season finale when it airs on Oct. 4.

zac efron films ‘entourage’ guest spot

Zac Efron filmed a guest spot for the upcoming season of Entourage this morning at Niketown in Los Angeles.

“He was filming a scene and talking on his cell phone,” a Niketown employee told E! News. “None of the other Entourage cast was here. He was really nice.”

People at the scene said that Efron was just hanging out before Niketown opened up and the Entourage film crew was in and out quickly.

“He was wearing sunglasses, and he left in a limo with another guy,” an eyewitness tells E!.

The new season of Entourage has an impressive list of guest stars for season six, including Tom Brady, Lil Wayne, LeBron James and Aaron Sorkin.  The new season of Entourage, which figures to be great, debuts at 9:30 p.m. on July 12.

entourage star helps out charity

Adrien Grenier, who plays Vincent Chase on Entourage, recently gave out food to those who need it in New York City.

Grenier did so despite the horrid storms that are pummelling the Northeast, and provides another nice example of celebrities helping out charities to help out the less fortunate.

Actually, the way the service is set up is pretty neat.  Grenier and others drove around New York City, visiting many restaurants and bakeries to pick up leftover food for charity.  They then took all of the leftover food and took it to Yorkville Community Pantry.

So good for Grenier and the rest of the well-off celebrities helping out this holiday season, you know?

Around these times, you’re going to get a lot of stories about celebrities helping out during the holidays.  It’s a way the media does two things.  They show their readers a different side of celebrities and they also get people into the giving mood.

So please help out this holiday season if you’re just sitting around the house with nothing to do.  People really do need help this holiday season, especially because of the economic downturn.

Or don’t help.  It’s your choice.

who’s jamie lynn sigler dating?

If you’ve seen this season of Entourage, you know that a curious plot line is that “Turtle Gets a Girlfriend”.  His girlfriend is the stunning Jamie-Lynn Sigler, who played Meadow Soprano in HBO’s The Sopranos.

But something curious happened in this season’s aftermath.

Real-life Jamie-Lynn and Jerry Ferrera, who plays Turtle on the show, seem to be dating now.  They’re spending a ton of time together, and Sigler didn’t dispel the rumor in a recent interview with Us Magazine.

And the gossip mags and the Internet can’t seem to figure out why they’re together.

Here’s the picture gallery.

Having watched the show, I’m not all that surprised that they are having a thing in real life.  There seems to be great chemistry, and neither Ferrera or Sigler is that great of an actor.

But it will be interesting to see, with the Internet seeming to be in complete agreeance that Sigler is under-performing and Ferrera over-performing, if they let that get between them.

turtle’s real name

If you’ve seen Entourage, you know that each main character has a nickname.

Eric Murphy = E.

Vincent Chance = Vinny Chase.

Johnny Chase = Johnny Drama.

Ari Gold = A**hole, D***** bag, etc.

But the one unknown for the entirety of the show was Turtle.  Well, we now know his name, and if you don’t want to know what it is, or what happened in Sunday night’s episode, then I would advise you to not click this link.

Even if you don’t click on the link, you should know that the link says that last night’s episode was the best in the history of the show.  I’ll be watching tonight, even though I don’t have HBO, if you know what I mean.
