Indian Creek Nature Center and SPT Theatre Company will hold their second annual environmentally-friendly benefit this Sunday, June 21.Nature Rocks, featuring a live, original music concert by Doug Elliott, Gerard Estella, Janelle Lauer and Jane Pini, will take place from 7-10 p.m. outdoors at the Indian Creek Nature Center, 6665 Otis Rd. SE in Cedar Rapids.
The rain date will be Monday, June 22, from 7-10 p.m.
The four performers will be joined by musicians Greg Kanz, Dave Ollinger, Ron DeWitte and special guest, folksinger Dave Moore.
In addition to the concert, Nature Rocks will feature important lessons about conservation, recycling and sustainability, courtesy of the Cedar Rapids/Linn County Solid Waste Agency. Educational displays will also be featured around the site.
Once again, families are encouraged to bring food, beverages and lawn chairs. They are also encouraged to attend the event using environmentally-friendly means.
There are options for those who wish to purchase food at the event. Tony Bata will offer his authentic Mexican cuisine and Ken Terukina will offer teriyaki and chicken sandwiches.
Chair massage will also be provided for audience members by massage therapist Alex Collins.
The cost is $25 per adult; children 16 and under are free.
