kara dropped from ‘idol’ panel; j lo and steven tyler are the rumored additions

Kara Dioguardi was polarizing for most loyal fans of American Idol.

The different poles seemed to typically enjoy Kara and her rambling, sassy criticism, while others just saw her as annoying foreplay for Simon’s criticism.

The latter group will rejoice with the following news: Dioguardi has reportedly been booted from Idol a day following Ellen’s “decision” to leave the show*.

*The quotations indicate sarcasm in that Ellen most likely didn’t just decide to leave Idol, rather she was forced out because she was given the option to save face before she was fired by the show’s producers.

The judges in place to replace Ellen and Kara, according to reports, are Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. At this point, Lopez’s contract is reportedly a done deal while Tyler’s has yet to be hammered out.  Flanking Randy Jackson with Tyler and Lopez would be a fascinating change to the show and guarantee renewed interest in a franchise that saw its ratings slide down a steep decline last season.

nicollette sheridan’s beef with ryan seacrest

Nicollette Sheridan is different from most of America in that she is on a hit TV show, likes guys with ponytails and hates Ryan Seacrest.

The reason for the latter is because of an interview that Sheridan did with Seacrest a while back.

And then, a day after the interview, Sheridan hears Seacrest ripping on her on his syndicated radio show.  Now she hates him forever.  She said the following to Ellen on The Ellen DeGeneres show…

“That’s gross. I’ve met him… I did his radio show,” Sheridan said.  “And he was very rude about me the next day. So I don’t like him. It (the remark) was nasty … and untrue. Yeah, I don’t like him. You should have a word with him.”

I will, Nicollette.  I will.

hills stars needs kids

Spencer Pratt recently said that he and his newly minted wife Heidi Montag need kids ASAP.

“We definitely need a kid ASAP,” Pratt said on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Monday morning. 

But, do you know why he was on Seacrest’s radio show?  He was promoting The Hills’ season finale.

So there’s one reason why the couple is talking about kids. Because they want higher ratings for The Hills, which means their 15 minutes are extended.  It also means that they stay relevant for a real reason.  I say a real reason, because once the show ends – which will probably be sooner rather than later – the paparazzi will not let them out of the spotlight.

Think Kristin Cavalari. 

Even though pretty much everyone expects Pratt and Montag to split, one of the most hated men on TV says that it will last “Forever and ever and ever!” 

As will their presence in their culture.

UPDATE: They did indeed reunite, just not together. 

According to Ryan Seacrest, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake are gearing up to perform with Madonna at Dodger Stadium Thursday night. 

“They are going to be onstage performing with Madonna,” Seacrest said on KIIS-FM Wednesday afternoon. “If Justin and Britney end up on that stage with her … I don’t know if I’ve ever seen anything quite like that before.”

Timberlake’s presence in the concert shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.  He co-stars on Madonna’s “4 Minutes,” lives out in L.A. and performed earlier this year with Madonna in NYC.

And as you may remember, Britney has also performed with Madonna.

Because we’re stuck in Iowa, wondering what happened to that nice warm weather from two days ago, there’s no way to know whether there’s any truth to the Britney-Justin reunion.  But, for now, we’ll just hope and pray that if this does happen, someone posts the performance on YouTube.
