‘the daily show”s obama interview gets huge ratings

The Daily Show knows to call the Obama family when the Jon Stewart-hosted show is looking for humongous ratings.

On Wednesday, Stewart interviewed President Barack Obama for the full 30 minutes of The Daily Show in the third highest-rated program in the show’s history.

The interview included Stewart’s now infamously calling Obama “dude”, but also featured several difficult questions posed to the first sitting president to appear on The Daily Show.

This wasn’t the first time Obama had appeared on Stewart’s program…

Just under 3 million people watched “The Daily Show’s” Jon Stewart interview President Obama on Wednesday night — the Comedy Central late-night show’s third-biggest audience ever.

The two bigger episodes?

Both back in ’08 — when Stewart interviewed presidential candidate Obama (3.58 million viewers) and, separately, when he interviewed future first lady Michelle Obama (2.92 million).
