elizabeth banks to guest star on ‘30 Rock’

Posted on 09 December 2009 by e.vandril

Elizabeth Banks, who you may know from 40-Year-Old Virgin, Zack & Miri and W, has signed on for a four-episode run for 30 Rock.

Banks will reportedly play a love interest to Alec Baldwin’s Jack Donaghy and it seems to have the promise to be another hilarious cameo on Tina Fey’s NBC show.  This seems like a really good move for Banks as well, considering she hasn’t had a noteworthy role over the last year.  A guest run of episodes on 30 Rock should keep her in the minds of mainstream comedy fans.

bidding war for palin baby pics

Posted on 31 December 2008 by e.vandril

Sarah Palin’s daughter Bristol recently had a baby.  Did you hear?

The way information is deseminated in our culture today, of course you did.  The entire world will also likely be able to see the newest Palin soon too, because, according to reports, there is an ongoing bidding war for pics of Bristol’s baby.

Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston was delivered on Saturday in Palmer, Alaska, according to hundreds of reports.

And now, according to WENN, People won the bidding war for the first public snaps of Tripp for $300,000.  The bidding allegedly started at $100,000.  Whether this is true has not been confirmed, so look out for an official confirmation from People in the coming days.

The crazy thing is that Bristol Palin and her soon-to-be husband Levi Johnston are seemingly set for life just by having a baby.  Must be nice to be famous.

aniston very interested in joining 30 rock cast

Posted on 11 December 2008 by e.vandril

I’m kind of mad at myself, and I’ll tell you why.

Before the Thanksgiving break, I promised myself I would watch 30 Rock, but I instead watched the NBA and listened to music in my apartment.

It was a good time hanging out with my roommates with all of my work done for the week, but I missed Jennifer Aniston’s guest-spot on 30 Rock.  It was allegedly brilliant – as most 30 Rock episodes are – but now it’s not on NBC.com, and I’m ticked off.

Things might get better for me, and all 30 Rock fans for that matter, because Aniston is allegedly interested in a full-time role on 30 Rock.

“That to me,” Aniston tells GQ, “is an ideal job: great cast, New York City. We’ll see what I say if they come back and ask me – I wouldn’t say yes, I wouldn’t say no.”

With her career after Friends largely being a disappointment, who wouldn’t benefit from Aniston joining 30 Rock?  Aniston would be the star on a very well-written TV show, Tina Fey could keep 30 Rock on the air because of the bump in ratings Aniston would provide, and NBC would finally get a bankable show with a bankable star.

All that’s left is crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s.

Not really, but don’t be surprised to see Aniston back alongside Alec Baldwin, Tracy Morgan and Tina Fey on 30 Rock in the near future.

fey gets into a knife fight

Posted on 01 December 2008 by e.vandril

I came across this story, and was kind of puzzled.  It’s probably because I’m poor and don’t have high definition television.

Tina Fey’s husband, Jeff Richmond, recently talked candidly about his wife.  But apparently not candidly enough for those who care about how Fey got a scar on her face.

One of the things that came up was how Fey, who’s best known in this country for her impersonation of Sarah Palin, got the scar.

Richmond revealed that Fey got into a knife fight when she was five years old.  But he wouldn’t open up about it because of Fey’s wishes to not glorify or exploit it.

Mr. Fey said that the scar is one of the best things about his wife, though.

“That scar was fascinating to me,” Richmond told Vanity Fair.  “This is somebody who, no matter what it was, has gone through something. And I think it really informs the way she thinks about her life.”

What was her reaction right after she got the mark?

“She just thought somebody marked her with a pen,” Richmond said.

All right.  I guess if I were in Fey’s position, I wouldn’t talk about it to the media.  Especially if it’s from one of her siblings or her parents or something along those lines.

Would you talk about it if you were famous?

will 30 rock get another major celebrity?

Posted on 29 November 2008 by e.vandril

30 Rock is on a roll lately.

First, they snagged Jennifer Aniston, and then the queen bee of celebrities in the United States, Oprah Winfrey.

Tina Fey, the show’s creator, head writer and star, also convinced Alec Baldwin to stay aboard the show over the summer while impersonating Sarah Palin and convincing Steve Martin to guest star.

Now Reese Witherspoon said that she would like to guest-star on 30 Rock.

“Oh, sure. Yeah. I love Tina [Fey], and I think she does such a great job,” Witherspoon tells E! News, “and she really understands comedy for women.”

So keep your ears pinned and eyes open for more news on 30 Rock, Reese Witherspoon and a potential fusion on one of TV’s best shows.  In the meantime, do you think this would work and/or actually happen?  Or do you think that Witherspoon, like most smart actors, is just keeping her options open?
